b An additional weight has been added to correct for response bias in the sub-sample providing a valid saliva sample (see Section 4.5.1).

c Comparative general population data are not available for saliva cotinine from the 1999 survey itself, comparative data have therefore been taken from the 1998
survey, in which no weighting was involved.
