Annual Report of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary 1998/99

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

 

To promote the efficiency and effectiveness of policing in England and Wales through the inspection process, to facilitate the spread of good practice and to provide advice and support to the tripartite partners on policing issues whilst maintaining independence of judgement and the highest professional standards.

 

HM Inspectorate Code of Practice

The Inspectorate will:

~ work with professionalism, integrity and courtesy;

~ evaluate performance objectively;

~ report honestly but fairly;

~ communicate clearly and frankly; and

~ respect the confidentiality of individuals.
