The Review of Designations:

The main aims will be to

• re-affirm importance of statutory designations, Natura 2000 and SSSI, and consider what needs to be done for landscape

• define relationships between them and offer guidance on use and impact

• await practical proposals from Cairngorms Partnership before moving forward with Natural Heritage Areas

• pursue simplification and de-regulation consistent with over-arching nature conservation objectives
