Planning Careers

The Scottish Office is planning a conference on the issues and problems facing rural careers offices in Scotland. Transport problems and the lack of local employment and training opportunities pose unique challenges for the careers service and its clients. High quality, appropriate and informative careers guidance is crucial if young people are to make the best career decisions. A conference involving careers service staff from rural areas, local enterprise companies and others will offer the opportunity to share good practice, to identify and address problem areas and explore possible solutions.
